Place : Tae an

I recommend Tae-an have a best possibility of geotourism in Korea. Tae-an is located in Chungcheongnam-do province and have a beautiful ocean scenery with blue sky and sea.

 

You guys might remember the big oil spill incident in Tae-an. In December 7^th 2007, 12,547kL of massive oil had spilled all over the Tae-an ocean. Because of this oil spill, almost 50% of sea creature died around Tae-an. Others who saved their lives were not normal at all. They were covered with oil just like this picture. 

 

 

 

This event made peoples mental and body poor. 75% of people who live in Tae are living by fishing but oil spill made them lose their living jobs. Many volunteer worker help removing oil lumps in Tae-an’s coast line. Here is the link of Tae-an oil spill so check it out if you are interested.

Almost decade have passed after that event, Tae-an had recovered slowly but steadily. Finally, in December 2015, fishing ground had recovered and other fishing industries are going back to their normal places.

 

So there’s one possible effects of geotourism in Tae-an by making museum of Tae-an oil spill event. Showing before, after, current state and future goal of Tae-an will make people think differently. Watching the pictures of volunteer worker cleaning massive of dark black oil will alert our life. It will also make a caution and prevent other future incident too.

Another possible effect of Tae-an’s gertourism is hosting a festival. Actually ‘Jumbo shrimp festival’ will held in September 27th to October 26th. You can have an experience of catching shrimp with your family or friends. After doing some fun activities, eating jumbo shrimp will be the best moment in your trip.

Eating delicious shrimp in right season by watching beautiful scenery of Tae-an’s beach will be the great experience. It will also break the prejudice of Tae-an coast line too.

Many scientists think that global warming is the main cause of various natural disasters. They made an example of drought in Australia, hurricane in U.S. coast too. They also expect that the number of these natural disasters will increase because of the global warming.


The natural disaster stroke, the number of people’s damage is bigger than we expect. The reason of these is people choose high risk areas to live in. High risk area is more fertilize, have beautiful scenery and have more opportunity to find jobs in these areas such as coasts and volcanic slopes.


To reduce damages because of the natural disasters, people can make various ideas. For example, designing floating houses of make River Thame’s barriers more solid than before. Using green roof top is also a good solution to reduce urban heat islands.


When I read this chapter, I cannot erase the earthquake in Japan. When I was in high school, there was a big earthquake in Japan. Thousands of people lose their lives and their hometown. We have prayed a lot and donate money to them, hoping their recovery. We send a post card to one high school in Japan and also send some rice to them.


Actually, Japan is an island so earthquake and tsunami is inevitable to them. After that big earthquake, Japan cope their inevitable natural disaster by some ideas. They build housed more stout. Buildings in Japans are not that high because when earthquake arrive, high buildings are hardly to survive. Japanese study lots of things how to survive when natural disaster arrives.



I was so impressed about their ideas and also their strong mental. Korea is more safe area than japan but we mustn’t relief.  We should also prepare for natural disasters because they don’t give us a call beforehand when they arrive.

Hello! My name is Shin Yea eun. I’m 22 years old. That’s why my blog name is blooming 22. I want to make my 22 bloom like flower. My major is English language and literature but my English skill is not that good. I’m very embarrassed when other asking about my major. I’m also worrying about other asking me to say anything in English.

I have never studied abroad so my English using skill is….As you can see, my grammar is TERRIBLE. I don’t know how to use it properly. Also, my vocabulary using is limited. I’m using same vocabulary over and over…

Actually I’m really bad at using computer. I’m technologically illiterate who never wrote the posting in English (even in Korean!!never used blog…)I’m fall behind the civilization so really worried about this class…

 These are my weakness and I hope to improve these by this class with professor Kyle and my classmate!!! Thank you:)
